UPDATE: TSF in Mexico epicentre zone

Relatives are gathering around sites across the region where offices, schools and houses are no longer, in the hope that four days after the 7.1 Mw earthquake, their loved ones have managed to survive. As the search for survivors under the rubble in Mexico City and its surrounding areas continues, Télécoms Sans Frontières has commenced its route in the states of Morelos and Puebla to assist families and relief efforts.

UPDATE: Uganda: At the heart of the refugee crisis

With one of the world's largest immigration strains, Uganda is currently home to over 1.3 million refugees. To the north, South Sudan, where years of war, chronic civil instability and famine have forced almost one million South Sudanese people to seek refuge across the border, with more than two thirds having arrived in Uganda since the outbreak of violence in South Sudanese capital, Juba in July 2016. To the west, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a country where tens of thousands of civilians have been caught up in series of violence between the Congolese authorities and local militia groups, leading to the exodus of more than 220,000 people.


 

Supporting life-saving medical aid for Mosul IDPs

TSF has been on the ground in Iraq since November 2016 supporting operations for NGOs in Qayyarah working to serve the thousands of families fleeing Mosul. Recent site surveys in the region's camps unveiled gaps in support of the medical sector.
