Guatemala: Data collection for prevention of food crisis

In Guatemala during the summer months of 2014, the lack of rain led hundreds of thousands of small scale farmers to lose their crop. A state of emergency was declared by the government with over 276,000 families requiring food support as a result of the drought. This problem exasperates a plague of coffee rust that hit the country some six months previously leading to a food security and nutrition emergency, affecting specially to rural and indigenous communities.


 

NEPAL: Emergency medical data collection system

mdmFollowing weeks of first emergency operations in Nepal, TSF has now phased its actions into the post-emergency chapter of its operations.


   

Emergency deployment to Nepal

nepalhomeFollowing the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal, TSF deployed a team from its International Headquarters and from its Regional Office for Asia and Pacific (ROAP) on Sunday 26th of April.


 

End of mission in Chile

Heavy storms have caused severe flooding in the North of Chile, affecting thousands of people in this usually arid region.  TSF received a request to work alongside UNDAC, and a team was deployed immediately from its Latin America & Caribbean base.
