2011 was a year of extremes. A year of many breaking news stories that commanded Télécoms Sans Frontières’ (TSF) attention and required swift and efficient action. From the tragedy of Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, to the wave of revolutions in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya ; from long term drought and livelihood crises to massive storms and destructive floods, the passing year was filled with emotion, significant changes and with deep reflections on our societies

2010 has been a year where agencies providing humanitarian relief have faced huge challenges, mass destruction and devastation in some of the world’s poorest areas. In 2010, over 255 million people were affected by natural disasters according to the United Nations, including people in Haiti, Chile, and Pakistan amongst the others.
