TSF leads assessments alongside UN & government for Cyclone Enawo response
TSF is currently on the front line in Madagascar deployed with the UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination body (UNDAC) and the National Office for Disaster and Risk Management (BNGRC) following the passage of Cat.4 intense tropical cyclone Enawo that made landfall in the country on 7th March 2017.
On the ground before the cyclone blew through the country, TSF was able to assist the government and the United Nations in the immediate aftermath and deploy to the zones most affected. Whilst the death toll remains low in comparison with previous meteorological catastrophes, the needs are yet to be identified, and TSF's role is to help catalyse the escalation of vital and life-saving information by providing the government and the UN with the technology necessary to improve coordination.
